Isn’t CAB for people who are coming from outside like Pakistan and Bangladesh? They will have documents from their own country and they have to state that they are Hindu and they will get citizenship. Are you trying to say that poor people who are here now without documents should claim that they are Pakistani?

There are many poor Hindus with out documents in India. There are tribal people too. NRC can definitely say that they are not Indian now. CAB The Act seeks to amend the definition of illegal immigrant for Hindu, Sikh, Parsi, Buddhist and Christian immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, who have lived in India without documentation. They will be granted fast track Indian citizenship in six years. So far 12 years of residence has been the standard eligibility requirement for naturalisation. Sachin200
The legislation applies to those who were “forced or compelled to seek shelter in India due to persecution on the ground of religion”. It aims to protect such people from proceedings of illegal migration. The cut-off date for citizenship is December 31, 2014 which means the applicant should have entered India on or before that date. Indian citizenship, under present law, is given either to those born in India or if they have resided in the country for a minimum of 11 years. The Bill also proposes to incorporate a sub-section (d) to Section 7, providing for cancellation of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) registration where the OCI card-holder has violated any provision of the Citizenship Act or any other law in force. Yeah but poor Hindus who have been here for more than 12 years without documents are indian, not Pakistani.. how can they claim anything? How can they even claim that they are Hindu? Sachin200
Leading opposition parties say the law is discriminatory as it singles out Muslims who constitute nearly 15 percent of country's population. The government clarifies that Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangaldesh are Islamic republics where Muslims are in majority hence they cannot be treated as persecuted minorities. It also assures that the government will examine the application from any other community on case to case basis.

For example, your two ids may have wrong names or spellings. If these two ids don’t match what will you do? Every Indian has to unnecessarily go through all of that. For starters, govt office lo unnavallu thappulu chesthunnaru with wrong details like photo, dob and name mistakes. There can be many cases like that. I bet there are many in this db or they have related family members who have people like that. Vallandhari meeda NRC petti Nuvvu indian va kaada prove chesuko ante etluntadhi? Should so many Indian citizens go through this? Esp when govt officials can do a lot of mistakes with records. I also want to ask what is the urgent need to implement CAB and NRC now?
