Please suggest good brand whiskey/brandy

Going to India next week and needed to take alcohol with me for dad. As I don’t know much about alcohol, Can anyone  please suggest a good brand of whiskey/brandy that typical desi uncles likes ?? Is it wise choose to take one whiskey and one brandy bottle. Never seems to understand difference between both. Thank you.
