They are just paid artists: Prithvi on Amaravati protestors

While the tension in Amaravati is high with farmers sitting on hunger strike, YSRCP leaders are further escalating with media statements and some of the legislators have already faced the heat. The chairman and director of devotional channel SVBC Prithvi has sparked a controversy by referring to protestors in Amaravati as 'paid artists'.

'All those who're participating in dharna are not farmers. They are junior artists and paid artists whom I know. Even god is happy with our three capital decision and how will this paid artists' protests matter?', he said speaking to the press on Sunday.

The statement by comedian turned SVBC chairman comes at a time when farmers of Amaravati are furious and protesting against CM Jagan's statement over three capitals in AP state assembly.

Prithvi's comment is going viral on social media and is being widely criticized by the netizens, calling it an irresponsible statement. It is known that a TV channel's vehicle was attacked by farmers who sat down protesting the state government's decision.
