first off, realise that whatever bullshit people tell themselves about greatness of military, only desperate losers join military. smart people work in the economy. Its true in all countries.

also its been pointed a few tmes that most mavni recruits from India are not for combat positions. so may be they are not as dumb as regular people who volunteer to fight. who knows.
