One per cent of Edmonton’s Iranian population was killed in yesterday's plane crash

Reuters is reporting that 30 of those killed in the Iran plane crash were from Edmonton, nearly half of the 63 Canadian victims identified by officials so far. Many of the known victims from Edmonton have associations with the University of Alberta.

The airline has released a list of the passengers on the plane, which includes the year they were born but not their nationalities. The youngest person listed was born in 2018 and the oldest in 1945. There were 33 people on board who were listed as 20 years old or younger.
