I moved last year when my kid is 18 months old. We can apply for OCI card anytime within 5 yrs of age unlike for other US citizens over 5 yrs age have to procure OCI card within 6 months of arrival. In case if you're moving for good, get the birth certificate apostille in US itself, i hope u applied for multiple original copies of birth certificate which everyone usually does. Quote

Kabhi kabhi thoda google karo yaarooo... https://www.onesourceprocess.com/apostille-birth-certificate/ An apostille is the certification of authenticity that is recognized among countries that are members of the Hague Convention of 1961. The apostille confirms the seals and signatures of documents (such as birth certificates) are true copies of the original. If your destination country is not a member of the Hague Convention of 1961, then your birth certificate will need to follow the legalization process through the Embassy or Consulate.
