Indian couple cancel wedding after 'bridegroom's father, 48, elopes with bride's 46-year-old mother'

An Indian couple who were set to get married next month have been left shattered after the bride's mother and the groom's father reportedly eloped together. 

The bride and groom, from Gujarat, India, decided to cancel their wedding, which was scheduled for the second week of February, after discovering their parents had fled.

The groom's father, described as a 48-year-old textile businessman, disappeared with the bride's mother, a 46-year-old woman, on January 10, The Times of India reported.

The bride and groom, from Gujarat, India, who were set to get married on the second week of February, cancelled their wedding

The families of both the parents have filed missing people reports with the police, according to The Times of India.      

An anonymous relative told The Times of India: 'They knew each other since they lived in the same society. 

'Some of their close friends informed us after they eloped that they had a relationship in the past too
