Canon/Nikon brands lo almost anni cameras baguntai mama.. its jus a matter of your taste and your expertise in photography...
anhother thing to consider is, if your friends are using a particular brand of camera (DSLR) then it would be better to opt for the same, so that you can share the gear (like lenses, off camera flash etc etc)

inka ivi kakunda, another silly thing to consider would is, if you have relatively small hands (palms) go for Canon; Nikons is a bit bigger in size :P

good attemt mama, if you dont mind naavi konni sugegstions (of course nenu kooda beginner ye , but naaku telisna knowledge share chestunna :P).. nuvvu veeti mida concentrate cheyyali..
1. Composition - what to place in your picture and where to place them
2. Focussing - Areas you want the viwer to draw their attention

ade cheptunna mama.. it depends on the taste and your expertise in photography.... Canon DSLRs lo automatic options chaala limited untai.. where as Nikon lo auto options chaala untai ( i mean programemed modes), even if you are not able to use the camera in manual mode Nikon works the best... this is not possible with Canon

so neeku yedi suit avute adi konnuko... you will never go wrong with Canon Rebels and Nikon D80/D90s  sHa_high5ing
