A video shows Beyoncé and Jay-Z sitting while Demi Lovato sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday. The couple’s decision to remain seated was likened to the protest by former NFL athlete Colin Kaepernick, who famously took a knee during the anthem as a peaceful protest against police brutality in 2016.
