There are 2 sides of the story: 1) People are not interested in buying non-Tesla EVs 2) If there is no demand for their vehicles, why should other manufacturers invest in EVs? they are in Catch 22 situation. EV's require strong Infra which isn't other automakers interested in investing. Elon Musk gave up the patents because he know exactly where the problem is. Quote
