Not just the slums, but it appears that the paan shops have also been 'walled in' so to speak, ahead of US President Donald Trump's visit to Ahmedabad.

Those chewing paan-masala and spitting on the roads and walls will have to think twice on February 24 as the Municipal Corporation does not want Trump to see such a thing while he is in the city. 

In its bid to keep all roads and walls around the airport spotless, the health department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation sealed three paan shops at the airport circle with a notice, saying that if the shopkeeper tries to remove the seal, legal actions will be taken against them. 

“We have decided to seal the shops till further order,” said an AMC official. 

This is of course a cause for concern to the locals who will now have to get creative to get their paan and paan masala.
