IndiGo, Air Asia bid goodbye to Vizag

While AP government is doing everything for Vizag to make it as capital, the air services for the beach city received a huge setback. IndiGo and Air Asia airlines have decided to end their services for a few routes.

IndiGo which runs flights between Chennai-Vizag-Chennai and Hyderabad-Vizag-Hyderabad will stop these services from March second week. Air Asia operates a plane between Kolkata and Vizag. This service has been withdrawn by Air Asia due to reasons best known to them. But the domestic airlines has applied for new routes from Vizag to Bengaluru and Vizag to Hyderabad.

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is yet to allot permission for these requests of Air Asia. Apart from this, Spice Jet has called off Vizag and Delhi service for a week citing maintenance.

This is seriously a blow as Vizag is a popular business in the entire state and every year the air travelers are increasing from the city.

How come it is a blow to Vizag when they applied for new routes from Vizag? Part of restructuring and cost cutting anukovachu kada

Moreover everything are in domestic routes only
