I don't think Costco gas is bad, it is 'Top Tier' gasoline which uses higher additives compared to the minimum standard requirement which is good.

When I. Use Sam's gas I get 300miles on a fill up

If I use shell gas I get around 330- 360 miles

sam's gas is very shady... I know someone who worked at sam for many years. she told me even she doesn't get gas from sams.

if she has a choice she would use costco ani a peddaavida tolded.
