Nothing is permanent..Detroit at one point used to build 9 out of 10 cars made in America..

German and Japanese car industries killed Detroit.. Now Tesla is killing them..

Of course nothing is permanent but this point and the startups that are centered around bay area is at the peak the center of excellence the innovation is happening is at the highest, if any state  can beat this in next 5 years I doubt it ofcourse there is no balance between rich and poor , these are the problems bay area is going to deal with schools are getting worse

It doesn't have to be one city or state. It's rest of the US vs Bay area.. companies will go to the city where they are comfortable.. Also most of the new startups are picking cities like Austin or Atlanta, it is impossible for a new start up to set up shop and hire people in Bay area.. existing startups and bigger companies will also slowly increase their presence in other cities to relieve the employees from high cost of living and housing expenses .

Look at the startups that are successful in recent 6 months, startups hire with funding from VCs , tons of VCs and china money is showered on these startups , some companies are not caring to give 100k joining bonus to hire talent , this might be just bubble.to blast no body knows , the point is startup eco system or growing startups are still in baybarea

Let's see.. my gut feeling in 10 years Bay area will start losing it's edge.. IT is not location specific..

I doubt that Silicon Valley will lose its sheen, but Utah is trying real hard to bring in software companies to their state.

It's not a 'might be' bubble. It is a bubble.

99% of these AI startups are going to go bust pretty soon.

but bay area is still a magnet for the smartest people in the world. also a magnet for scamsters.

its more likely that an earthquake eats up the entire region than that happening.
