1940s-almost 2000s non stop music contributions icharu, contributions to art are one of the major criteria for Bharat ratna...Not just movie songs, her songs like aye mere watan ke logon army martyrdom ni hail chestu paid the greatest tribute to indian soldiers than anyone could ever do...

Yes you are correct! TS question enti ante there  are many other geniuses who deserve that award more than her ani

I am not sure who other deserving candidates TS has in mind, during the time she was awarded. But she did the longest service and she is celebrated in the entire subcontinent. I would personally rate even E.Sridharan and Pullela Gopichand's contributions more than Lataji's.

Music in general is over-rated... There are so many talented performers on Got Talent. But most of the times, a singer wins it.

Aame paadina time lo there was no internet and radio or cassettes or tv was the only source to listen to music. She dominated all those means. Some say saraswati sits on her tongue to add medlody to her voice. All music directors adored her for her talent.

Mana India lo cinema vallaki cricket vallaki ichinantha importance prominence evariki undadu... they don’t give a fcuk about military veterans or martyrs forget about other civilians who have been doing selfless services to the country ...
