Its not spreading rapidly. It is the US not having testing equipment.

 

Lets say we have 100,000 cases in US. So far, they could test only 5000 people and then confirmed 1000 out of the 5000. 

 

If they have a million tests done, then they may be able to identify all cases and then think of containing it
