It depends...If this continuous till June then this will become financial crisis and people start losing jobs...If the house value is around 400k then they may survive for an year without job but if the value which is more than 700K then  it will be difficult for them to pay EMI's without jobs...

Finally it doesnt matter if it is desi area or another area its all depends whether you have job or not..And in financial crisis no one will dare to buy a house..
