Here . Those who are questioning the efforts of AP government in attracting investments , one wonders as to what their reaction to this news would be .

Swiss company IMR metallurgical has expressed intent to invest 12000 crores to establish a new steel plant in Kadapa with 10 million tonnes annual capacity . This is an even bigger investment than Kia , which invested 1 billion dollars . Ironically enough , the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation shows that AP grew only 4.4 percent in 2018-19 , not 11.6 percent as previously claimed by previous government.

Perhaps one issue is that the investments that are actually being materialised are not being publicised enough . 1200 new industries .... small and big ... how many know about the progress being made ? Perhaps one has to learn how to maintain public relations better , and show the difference between graphics and “ real “ progress .

AP so far has only 2 reported cases or in other words , less than 1 percent in the total cases in the country . By the way , quarantine centres in Visakhapatnam and necessity of paracetamol in reality to treat corona symptoms actually shows the commitment and dedication of government ,in any case .

How can 4.4 percent growth rate  be claimed as excellent ? It was lower than national average . It was shown that the numbers claimed previously ( 11.6 ) percent was erroneous too .

In fact , during the 1995-2004 period , AP grew at just a little over 5 % on average . In fact it even recorded negative growth in 1997-98 and little over 2 percent growth in 2002-03 . In 1995-96 , 1999-2000 and 2001-02 , it was around 4 perecent or slightly higher . In contrast 2004-09 saw splendid growth , to the extent that 10 percent average growth was recorded . The highest was 12 percent in 2007-08 and lowest 6.9 percent in 2008-09 .
