why us covid19 death numbers are increasing rapidly when only new cases are being reported largely

question guys ..all of sudden cases of deaths are spiking up due to covid19 ..able to understand why new cases spiked due to more testiing..

seeing death of cases in some areas for covid19 as soon as they are reported

ex: south dakota.. within a day or same day... 

are the numbers being downplayed or they are being known in critical stage.. based up on stats critical cases are not being correctly
