The Los Angeles Times reported 45 members of a 121-person chorus in the state of Washington have tested positive for COVID-19 nearly three weeks after they congregated to practice, shocking some health officials while leading others to suspect the coronavirus may be airborne. A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that when the virus was suspended in a mist under laboratory conditions it remained “viable and infectious” for three hours.
