I think job responsibilities significant change (more than 50%) unte you need to file amendment

your manager will talk to hr and immigration team and they will determine when to file , whether to file etc , typically your position can change on paper once they file , approval vache varaku wait cheyakarledu

I was in same boat .. developer to architect promoted 

i would wait till ur i140 is approved if it is applied as developer .. i had to delay my promotion bcoz promotion accespt cheste malli veyyali .. in case nee i140 is applied as promoted job you are all set
