Charles Schwab is daddy for all of these. TD is very good platform, it got bought by Charles Schwab. So there will be full merger soon.

If you are working for an investment firm or companies that provide related services then you are allowed to have brokerage accounts in only selected firms so that they can keep track of any insider trading violations.
