No speculations but going by trend feel lock down could continue for one or two more weeks..

China imposed strict/forced lockdown and then India also implemented the same.

On the other hand Japan never implemented strict/forced lockdown and can't even implement something called "lockdown" due to the human right laws.

Japan govt just "requested" people to stay at home and avoid unneccesarily coming outs and meeting, gatherings, but more than 50% of the people were living normal life till today and then suddenly there is rise in cases.

So when it comes to lockdown and containment approach till now, its different in case of China Vs Japan and  even India Vs  Japan

Japan is starting to implement lockdown and they call it emergency as per their constitution to avoid any legal issues citing the human rights laws.

If they start implementing lockdown, how is it applicable to India to extend the lockdown, we can't even co-relate.

Japan/China Vs India's economy, climate/temperature, population age groups,  occupation/profession of the 70% of the people, "the current overall situation",  "economic situation in the next 3 months" etc., are very different.

other countries (singapore/Japan) are using 'big data' to drive their decisions.

India and US are using emotions, and an insecurity at what may happen if markets are shut for too long. In India's case, the lockdown was a pure PR stint (even though miraculously a decent one) by PM.

there's no thought behind it.

meaningless comment. what do you mean by 'different'?

occupation of 70% of people are different, but in what way is it related to what Japan does?

and why are you bringing in to defend what India should do? didn't India already lock down? did anyone criticize tht lockdown or are you instinctively defending your stupid worthless govt before they actually go ahead and do more stupid things?
