వాషింగ్టన్‌: కేవలం ఒకేసారి లాక్‌డౌన్‌ అమలు చేయడం ద్వారా మహమ్మారి కరోనా వైరస్‌(కోవిడ్‌-19) వ్యాప్తిని కట్టడి చేయలేమని హార్వర్డ్‌ శాస్త్రవేత్తలు పేర్కొన్నారు. 2022 వరకు భౌతిక దూరం పాటించేలా పటిష్ట చర్యలు చేపడితేనే ప్రాణాంతక వైరస్‌ నుంచి విముక్తి పొందే అవకాశం ఉందని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. అమెరికాలో కరోనా మరణాల సంఖ్య తారస్థాయి(25 వేలు దాటింది)కి చేరడం సహా లక్షలాది మంది వైరస్‌ బారిన పడుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో మహమ్మారి ప్రభావంపై శాస్త్రవేత్తలు అధ్యయనం చేపట్టారు. జులుబు మాదిరి కోవిడ్‌-19 సీజనల్‌ వ్యాధిగా రూపుదిద్దుకునే అవకాశం ఉందని హెచ్చరించారు. ముఖ్యంగా ఉష్ణోగ్రతలు తగ్గుతున్న కొద్దీ దీని ప్రభావం తీవ్రతరమవుతుందని పేర్కొన్నారు

ఇక సామాజిక దూరం పాటించేలా చర్యలు తీసుకోవడం సరైన చర్యే అయినప్పటికీ.. తరచుగా కరోనా నిర్ధారణ పరీక్షలు నిర్వహిస్తేనే మెరుగైన ఫలితాలు వస్తాయని శాస్త్రవేత్తలు వెల్లడించారు. భౌతిక దూరం వల్ల రోగనిరోధక శక్తి పెరగదని.. దీని ద్వారా వైరస్‌ వ్యాప్తిని మాత్రం నియంత్రించవచ్చని పేర్కొన్నారు. అదే విధంగా  కరోనాను అంతం చేసే అంతిమ ఆయుధం వ్యాక్సిన్‌నే అని.. అయితే దానిని తయారు చేసేందుకు మరికొంత ఎక్కువ సమయం పట్టవచ్చని అంచనా వేశారు

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has denounced US President Donald Trump's decision to halt funding to the World Health Organization in an early morning tweet.

"Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds," Gates said in a tweet on his official account.

“Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them,” he said, adding the world needs the WHO “now more than ever.”

Trump announced Tuesday he is halting funding to the WHO while a review is conducted into its handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
