TrollBait Posted April 15, 2020 Report Posted April 15, 2020 I ask because long back on a suburban train in chennai, one man wished me 'salam walaikkum'.. I didn't understand what he was saying, since I was listening to a podcast. So I asked him again. He sheepishly said 'I just wished you'.. I still didn't understand. he asked are you muslim? I said no. 'oh okay. I thought you were muslims and wished you salam alaikkum'. I just smiled and said okay. then the same day... while going back another person who sat beside me enthusiastically showed me his whatsapp forward. I didn't understand. It was a picture of a man in robes He said 'It is periyavaa. the most amazing human being. I love him'. I still didn't understand. I asked 'who is periyavaa?' he asked 'are you brahmin?" 'no.' 'oh sorrry, I thought you were brahmin. periyavaa is our holy father and is the leading light for our community. I love him'. I smiled at him and said cool. Quote
TrollBait Posted April 15, 2020 Author Report Posted April 15, 2020 how come people think of being a muslim and a brahmin at the same time? I was somewhat unshaven that day. may be a 3rd day beard. Quote
TrollBait Posted April 15, 2020 Author Report Posted April 15, 2020 Full disclosure: I know who periyavaa is. i've known since I was fcukig 8yr old ever since I started living in Chennai and my school forced him on me. for some reason, it didn't strike me on that day though. looks like I spent too much time away from brahmins. don't know if its good or bad.
