Don't think everyone's life will be similar..around 5-10% children get sexually abused even though they have enough money/education..

You are all missing the point about these fees. It's not to do with education, its about joining a private club

If anything this shows how pathetic the state of primary education in India is, something for people here who brag about going back to india have to consider.

The fact is that most of the schools at the primary level cant even provide basic facilities to kids forget about an elite education, which makes institutions that can provide them to charge exorbitant fees and get away with it. I can assure hi that almost everyone here who complained will be craving to send their kids to these same schools if they were to go back to india.

I have a friend who owns a chain of institutions in Hyderabad, mostly high schools and primary schools.

He asked me once if I would like to invest, of course I didn't and I won't. He promised that I would double my amount within 2-3 years.

Oh this was for an "international" school too.

What people fail to understand here is that sending kids to these schools is no different from purchasing a more expensive home in the US in a place like Palo Alto for example. 

My wife's cousins go to school in Palo Alto where their classmates are kids of other CEOs and Silicon valley bigwigs. They of course pay a premium to live there, however their parents are okay with that since they want their kids to be exposed to the silicon valley mindset. 

Same is the thinking of the parents who send their kids to these schools in india.

That's all that matters. The entire high school education can be learned in one year by home schooling lol.
