Agreed  - Few years ago when India had an internet outage due to a cable failure in some ocean(https://www.bgr.in/news/undersea-cable-faults-reportedly-affect-internet-connectivity-across-india-342813/), then after some google searches got to know that Internet is nothing but a bunch of interconnected cables around the world. I had the basic idea of bits and bytes transfer, but ISP hubs, Submarine Cables in the ocean floor was eye opening.  CBT nuggets is a great source for networking basics/CCNA etc, but will be too much information for non IT folks.
