Herd immunity will work in countries where there are adequate ICU beds and ventilators. US lo it will work because it has enough resources. Mostly from May all the states will relax their rules, people will follow social distancing and the elders and people with health issues will stay home.. So the economy will slowly return to some normalcy..

India lo it will not work. There are too many people and even if 0.01% of the population gets sick, that's  1.3 crore people and Indian government hospitals can't even treat 10% of these people.. So a majority of them will die..
