The government’s Paycheck Protection Program sparked outrage after its initial $349 billion allotment quickly ran out and it was revealed that big public companies secured loans while many small businesses were left in limbo. The U.S. small business relief program reopens today, but who’s getting the funds? After its initial launch, more than 220 public companies applied for at least $870 million in PPP loans. Ashford Hospitality Trust applied for $76 million in PPP loans.
