Ranchi Court Grants Bail To Student Richa Bharti, Directs Her To Distribute Copies Of Quran:

A Ranchi court granted bail to a student after a case was registered when she shared an objectionable post with an allegedly communal content on Facebook, on the condition that she would have to distribute five copies of the religious text Quran at different organisations. The judicial magistrate Manish Singh allowed bail to the accused, Richa Bharti, while directing her to donate one copy of the religious text to Sadar Anjuman Islamia Committee and four copies to the libraries of various schools and colleges.

These are the words uttered by Richa Bharti’s father in despair. The same Richa Bharti from Ranchi, who was ordered by a lower court in Ranchi to distribute copies of the Quran as a condition to secure bail in a case regarding her objectionable post on Facebook. However, Richa had refused to comply with the court order. Since then, she and her family are being continuously harassed. Richa and her family have alleged that the Jharkhand Police are doing this work at the behest of the Jharkhand government.
