New York Mayor Bill de Blasio issued a public warning directed at the city's Jewish community, in which he instructed police to “proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups.” The warning came in response to a large funeral gathering in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where hundreds of Orthodox Jews gathered on the streets to mourn the passing of a rabbi from COVID-19.
