Kool_SRG Posted May 1, 2020 Report Posted May 1, 2020 First train carrying 1200 migrants from Lingampally in Telangana to Hatia in Jharkhand started its journey at 4:50 am today. The 24 coach train will arrive at Hatia in Jharkhand at 11 pm tonight. All due processess including quarantine etc will be followed as per guidelines. A special train carrying stranded migrant labourers began its journey on Friday from Lingampally in Telangana to Hatia in Jharkhand. The special 24-coach train began its journey at 5 am in the morning and is expected to reach Hatia by 11 pm tonight. Sources told India Today TV that the “one-off special train” was run from Lingampally to Hatia on the request of Telangana state government, and in line with the directions issued by the Ministry of Railways. It may be noted that further trains for transporting migrants “shall be planned only as per the directions of Ministry of Railways and on request from both originating and destination state governments”. All necessary precaution such as prior screening and social distancing was followed before passengers boarded the special train. The development comes after the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued guidelines allowing interstate travel for stranded migrants, which mostly include students and labourers. Quote

The states will send their officials to host states for their medical check up. They are running on less occupancy. The Railways will review first train and then start others soon. "Today morning a One-off special train was run from Lingampalli to Hatia on request of the State Government of Telangana and as per the directions of Ministry of Railways. This was only a One-off Special train and any further trains shall be planned only as per the directions of Ministry of Railways and on request from both the Originating and Destination State Governments." The first train carrying migrant workers will arrive at Jharkhand's Hatia at 11 pm on Friday All migrant workers have been given sanitizers, face masks, and gloves. They have been provided with food and water. Social distancing is also being followed in all train coaches. Quote

These special trains will be run from point to point on the request of both the concerned State Governments Posted On: 01 MAY 2020 4:51PM by PIB Delhi As per the guideline issued by Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been decided to run “Shramik Special” trains from “Labour Day” today, to move migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places due to lock down. These special trains will be run from point to point on the request of both the concerned State Governments as per the standard protocols for sending and receiving such stranded persons. The Railways and State Governments shall appoint senior officials as Nodal Officers for coordination and smooth operation of these “Shramik Specials”. The passengers have to be screened by the sending states and only those found asymptomatic would be allowed to travel. Sending State Governments will have to bring these persons in batches that can be accommodated in the train to the designated Railway Station in sanitized buses following social distancing norms and other precautions. It will be mandatory for every passenger to wear face cover. Meals and drinking water would be provided to the passengers by the sending states at the originating station. The Railways will endeavour to ensure social distancing norms and hygiene with the cooperation of passengers. On longer routes, the Railways will provide a meal enroute during the journey. On arrival at the destination, passengers will be received by the State Government, who would make all arrangements for their screening, quarantine if necessary and further travel from the Railway Station.
