its an experimental city created in 1960.

I went there thrice. Not any cult. It's a great place. Close to utopia. But spoiled with mindless tourists.

The aashram area is extremely commercial though. Plainly made for show off.  The village itself is pretty real with all what they say about self sustenance and all.

oh wow, its really fascinating. I lived in Chennai for 4 years and never heard about this. 

May be next trip to India, i will try to go and see.

Whaaat avuna.. pondi nundi 30 mins drive anthe. We bicycled the entire area. Good feels.
