Me wife sacremanto lo working a? How is job market and cost of living in sacremanto bro compared to SFO and LA?

Starting job in October bro. Job market for IT is small from what I have observed compared to Bay Area and LA etc.

cost of living much lesser than both those places too.

Edit : Also check sites like https://h1bdata.info etc to get an understanding of what they are paying for H1Bs for similar titles. That gives you an approximate idea but what you see there is not 100% applicable to you as you do not know all the titles, roles and locations for the company.

Mentioning the above, rest I agree with you and thanks for your opinion.

Sr Principle antey equivalent to Sr. Manager level. So for Dev Ops you can ask 170K- 180K In LA Area. Which company by the way ?

Its next to LAX (El Segundo Area). 180K  should be a decent salary to quote. But chances are they will refer your previous years salary and make you think that they are paying well ahead.

Let me know if you need other info like places to live near by etc.... Welcome to LA !!

Isn't California one of those states where they cannot ask for your previous pay and only ask for what you expect?

They may ask for prev pay slips only for proof of employment after you are hired.

Haven't accepted the offer bro, let's see if they would offer me that much. If then I might take it up, right now I calculated losing more with the separate rent and travel expenses compared to what I make now

Not true. They asked me my previous year's pay while doing my background verification and I had to explain HR why it is so low in one year. Infact that help me to negotiate well.
