Bro how can a country takecare are of all the citizens and also kids of them born and paying taxes in other country in time of crisis? we have more than enough tax paying population to take care of in crisis. 

Can understand about the  family side. OCI card is for NRI citizens who are citizens of other country but have parents from India. 

People who have issues like this - Are they ok to give up USA citizenship for there kids ? Avva kavali buvaa kavli type lo undi edi

NRIs send $70 billion (Rs. 4.2 lakh crores) every year to India. That is just 25% less than the total Indian government's plan expenditure ($94 billion). In essence, the few NRIs put almost as much money in India as the whole of the Indian central government. 

It is not just the quantum of money, but the type of it is even more juicy. The remittances are in the form of dollars and thus substantially reducing India's currency risks. 23 years ago, India was practically bankrupt with Manmohan taking whatever little gold India had to London and get the precious dollars. Those dollars are needed to buy crude oil, machinery, vegetable oil etc. NRIs make sure such a dollar shortage never happened after that.

 

Even if NRIs are useless to the country, I still say that policy is lathokoru policy and made by brainless ruthless people. Just imagine you are stuck in there with an infant who born there and you guys want to travel to India for urgent reasons. 

that policy should exclude minors with oci who is travelling with Indian citizens

India closed all visas that includes OCI... heard few families are backed out from vandemataram mission due to the same reason as kids are US citizens and parents are h1b holders...

may be its the time to think about having kids in a different country... kids should have the same status of parents... lesson learned...
