Its very hard to define what philosophy is. It precedes scientific thought, that depends on provable axioms.

you can't find solutions for your problems in philosophy.for eg. philosophies that were born out of vedic thought - the most popular one is advaita vedanta..

what do you learn from it? nothing. It is just a construct, an idea of the universe and how you interact with it as an individual, as the author sees it. the idea is beautiful and complete. Nothing more. 

That's what most philosophies are.. If you want to call this Ayn Rand's bs as philosophy, and want to practise it, then you should first reject your nation, god, all relations that are not useful to you, so on. But philosophy doesnt work like that.

you should just invest in being honest to yourself. aspire to be the person you want to become and learn all the tools needed to achieve it

philosophy's job is not to give you that ideal. It is your choice to make.

Ayn Rand has no understanding of what philosophy is. 

She wrote a 3rd rate book. dumbfcuks who read it valorized her, and she founded some kind of circle jerk club and started giving lifestyle advice to all and sundry. Everything she wrote belongs in the dustbin.

Philosophy just gives you a good model to view the world. to understand how it works.

but like all models, it is incomplete, and you shouldn't follow any philosophy.

again Ayn Rand is not a philosopher. Philosophers don't go around telling people how they should behave.
