That so true...the politics of 80’s and 90’s was so unpredictable and especially during the PV’s tenure. Gandhi clan, weakening of congress, Mandal-Masjid politics, rise of BJP, Congress in house fights and splinter groups, weak economy, weak leadership...US pressure, home grown left terror, Kashmir, poverty...depleting foreign reserves, defence scams, cabinet scams...

PV did had guts and brain to run the government for a full term.

Only full term government in the highly disturbed 90s. And he ran the govt with a small cabinet in such an efficient way!

Many people agree that he should be given Bharat Ratna including SuSwa. MMS wanted to give it in his tenure. But you know what happened later...

I have great regard for Dr. MMS. 

But just to put the facts, in the same UPA, GDP growth was also 5%. Chiddu made statement that 5% is also good, and we should not be pessimistic. Video still available.

Further, GDP growth was never 10%. The peak we reached in MMS time was 8.5%. And the inflation that year was 10.5%. The previous year it was 12.5% !! In Modi's 6 years, the highest inflation was 4.5%. 

I am not saying Modi's govt is doing better in terms of economics. In fact, Modi1.0 didnt offer anything great in terms of economic reforms. But UPA is not as great as glorified.

basic things people miss is prapancham antha bavunnappudu manam bavunnam thappa antha worst unnappudu we never were better, its just timing anthey . evariki vallu memu thopulam maa valley ila ayyindhi ani cheppukuntaaru. exception is PVR he did reform when he was PM he opened India borders
