There is too much competition in this area. Every TV channel has multiple singing competition based shows and talented singers come out every season. Music directors have lot of choice now compared to olden days and new talent is ready to sing for free.

Only famous singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Arijith Singh etc...  earn in lakhs per song. Most of the new comers are paid pennies even for concerts.
