Trolling Of Judges: HC Serves Notices

As expected, the comments made against judges by several YSR Congress party followers and supporters on a series of judgements given by the Andhra Pradesh high court against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the recent past have caught the ire of the judges.

On Tuesday, the Andhra Pradesh high court took suo motu cognizance of the adverse comments made against the judges and served notices on as many as 49 netizens who trolled the high court in the social media.

The high court also served notices on YSR Congress party MP from Bapatla Nandigam Suresh and former MLA from Chirala Amanchi Krishna Mohan for making negative comments against the judgements.

The court gave three weeks’ time to the respondents to file their replies. The court acted on a petition filed by an advocate in this regard.

There was a heavy trolling on the recent judgements of the high court, especially on ordering a CBI inquiry into the alleged inhuman treatment meted out to a Dalit doctor in Visakhapatnam, revoking the suspension of former intelligence chief A B Venkateshwara Rao and on proposing a contempt case against the government on painting of panchayat buildings with YSRC party colours.

While many of them attributed motives to the judges who delivered these verdicts, some others said they pity the high court, others said: “RIP high court.”

Another follower said it would be better if the high court was abolished in Andhra Pradesh. 

Another person tweeted tagging Rashtrapathi Bhavan and saying every action that the government takes is opposed by the opposition party and by default, the high court also opposes.

“All judgements given by the AP high court is according to the opposition. Please take a look,” he said.

There was also a comment that there were two oppositions in Andhra Pradesh: one TDP and another high court.
