The State of Minnesota announced on Tuesday that it is launching a civil rights investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department as protests continue across the US over the death of George Floyd. Governor Tim Walz said the administration will use every tool “to deconstruct generations of systemic racism in Minnesota.” The investigation will look into policies, procedures and practices of the police department over the last 10 years.
