Ella Jones was elected Mayor of Ferguson on Tuesday, beating out her opponent Heather Robinett by just over 100 votes. Jones becomes the city's first African-American mayor and also its first female mayor in history. Her victory comes nearly six years after the death of Michael Brown, a Black man shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson in 2014.
