tacobell fan Posted June 4, 2020 Report Posted June 4, 2020 Defense Secretary Mark Esper said at a press conference on Wednesday that he doesn’t support using active-duty forces in a law enforcement role — a stance in contrast to the US president's threat of deploying the US military to rein in protests against racial injustice across the United States. According to a Bloomberg report, Trump has since privately asked advisers if Esper can still be effective in his role. However, on Wednesday afternoon, Esper abruptly reversed a decision to send 200 active-duty troops home from Washington D.C., following a meeting at the White House. Quote
