on topic, I dont think he is underrated, he was a good music director back then... but not at the top tier, just second level technician ... peddha heros tho ekkuva cheyyaledu .. I think he evenatually moved to tamil side

He had major hits in Malayalam. Antha manchi songs, Back Ground Score isthu kuda 2nd tier chesesaru endukani.  He is from Bobbili BTW.

Mani Sharma peaks lo unnadu appatlo plus Mani BGM king. So except DSP no one could get to the top tier along with Mani sharma
