Anta Assamey Posted June 15, 2020 Report Posted June 15, 2020 Telangana, which is under all-round fire for conducting fewer Corona tests in the country and received instructions from the Centre as well as the High Court to increase the Covid-19 tests, has finally decided to conduct more tests. CM KCR announced today that the state has decided to conduct 50,000 tests in the coming week in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. KCR has ordered health officials to conduct the Covid-19 tests in the 50 Assembly segments of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Medchel and Sangareddy districts in the next 7 to 10 days. He stressed that Hyderabad is like the heart of Telangana and keeping its brand-image and more cases being reported from the city compared to other districts, KCR said the government is taking steps on war-footing measures to control the spread in the city. “In the next ten days as a precautionary measure, 50,000 people from Uppal, LB Nagar, Maheswaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Rajendranagar, Seri Lingampalli, Chevella, Pargi, Vikarabad, Tandoor, Medchel, Malkajgiri, Qutballpur, Kukatpally, Malakpet, Amberpet, Musheerabad, Khairatabad, Jubilee Hills, Sanath Nagar, Nampally, Karawan, Gosha Mahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura, Secunderabad, Secunderabad Contonment, Patancheru Assembly Constituencies would undergo the Corona detection tests. Utilise the services of the private labs and hospitals in this regard. The officials are going to issue the guidelines for conducting tests and the fee to be collected by the private labs and hospitals,” CM KCR said. KCR held a high-level review meeting today with Health Minister Etela Rajender, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, CMO Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao, Secretary Rajasekhar Reddy, senior medical officials, medical experts. KCR said the government is permitting private labs to conduct Covid-19 tests. He also said the government is permitting private hospitals to offer treatment for Covid-19. He however asked the medical and health officials to prepare guidelines and fee structure to be duly followed by the private hospitals, labs without charging higher rates. CM KCR said asymptomatic Covid-19 patients would be offered home quarantine. He also added that the government is ready to offer treatment to the Corona patients irrespective of the number. He assured that the state government has adequate number of Test Kits, PPE Kits, ventilators, ICU Beds and masks. He asked people to not panic. However, CM KCR has asked people to follow personal hygiene and due precautions to avoid the spread of the pandemic. Quote
