depends on the person, if talented, even with or without certification will do it, as it will add more to his own levels of maturity rather than implementations at client site

certifications are good anytime, they'll only add value to you and your resume, nothing to lose

Depends on industry baa... I know some federal jobs needs PMP certification and they need to renew every time to keep their jobs...

if you are new and trying to get into PM role... do it and add it to your resume.. it’s worth
