Trudeau extends eligibility for the CERB by 8 weeks and announces extension of Canada-US border closure

Prime Minister Trudeau announced on Tuesday that the federal government will extend eligibility for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit by 8 weeks. Over 8.4 million Canadians signed up for the program so far. Trudeau also announced that the Canada-US border will remain closed to non-essential travel for another 30 days, until July 21.
