Why is the need for H1B if you are in research? You can always apply for O1 if you're going to industry.

O1 is not as easy as H1B to get... And not all companies sponsor O1 ..

O1 is easier than H1B if you have a PhD and minimum citations. With H1B, there is the question of lottery, with O1, there isn't.
