How will they retaliate funding startups if the startups are generating money and giving them share uncle?

There will be pressure on those companies from Chinese government and people to stop further funding Indian startups. Unless Indian government and companies fund Indian startups, it will be tough to raise funds. 

These startups are not generating money now to self sustain.

These startups are not generating money now to self sustain. 

China isnt doing any favor, if not china some other company or country will come and fund them. China is simply doing the business and we are at the loss mostly as they get benefited by simply investing in local startups. So china wont do this thing unless its adverse as they also rely on indian market.
