Heart-Wrenching Pic: 3-Yr-Old On Grandpa’s Body At J&K Encounter

Heart-wrenching image of a 3-year-old boy sitting on the motionless body of his grandfather in Kashmir’s Sopore has been going viral on the social media.

The 60-year-old civilian was killed in cross-firing on Wednesday morning in Kashmir when an encounter broke out between militants and the Indian security forces at Sopore in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir..

Reportedly, the boy and his grandfather were passing by the area when the Indian security forces retaliated to the firing by the militants. The man suffered two bullet injuries and died on the spot. The child, not able to understand what happened, was then seen crying over his grandfather’s body covered in blood.

As police reached the place, the boy was rescued and taken to a shelter. He wailed inconsolably over the body of his grandfather. However, the police carried the boy away from the encounter site.

Other heartbreaking images from the encounter site show how the boy first attempted to wake up his grandfather who was laying motionless on the road and how a soldier, crouching behind a structure, asked the boy to run for shelter and he walks away from the body.

In the encounter, a CRPF jawan was also killed while three other jawans were injured.
