మహావీర్ హరినా వనస్థలి నేషనల్ పార్క్ గ పిలవబడే ఈ నేషనల్ పార్క్ ఒకప్పటి నిజాం రాజుల హంటింగ్ గ్రౌండ్ గ ఉండేది, ఇక్కడే నిజాం రాజులూ వారి సరదాకోసం అక్కడ నివసించే వన్య ప్రాణులని వేటాడేవారు. తదుపరి అదే నిజాం వంశస్తులు అప్పటి గోవేర్నమేంట్ కు ఈ చక్కటి అరణ్య ప్రాంతాన్ని వన్య ప్రాణుల సంరక్షణ కేంద్రం గ మార్చటానికి తమ బహుమతిగా ఇచ్చారు.
